Dream Number Info

If you regularly play the Lotto you may have already noticed the inclusion on your ticket of the ‘Dream Number’ and not realised what it is for. Hopefully here we can give you all the necessary information to unlock the mystery and get you participating in this exciting game, which hopefully will result in a six figure dream number for you!

Dream Number from the National Lottery allows you play either simultaneously with your regular Lotto numbers or as a stand alone game. Your Dream number is a number randomly generated at the time of your Lotto ticket issue, the Dream Number issued can be replaced for an alternative by selecting the ‘Lucky Dip’ option, although at the present time you are unable to select your own choice of numbers. The game costs £1 per entry and you can opt to go into both the Wednesday and Saturday draw for a maximum of 8 weeks per ticket. Ticket sales close at 7.30pm on a Wednesday and Saturday just prior to the draw. Numbers are drawn in the usual process and the object of the Dream Number game is for your numbers to match exactly (and in the same order) those that are drawn.

Prize funds are fixed with no rollover jackpot if the top prize isn’t won, starting with a £2 win for matching one number, £10 for two numbers matched, £100 for three, £500 for four, £5,000 for 5, £50,000 for six and the maximum prize win possible is £500,000 (though depending on the amount of winners the prizes may sometimes be less). The Dream Number draw is televised on a Wednesday and a Saturday live on the BBC and adds to the excitement of the usual lotto games.

Without doubt the most convenient and simplest way of playing all the Lotto games is online, so if you visit the National Lottery website you will be able to register to open an account and play almost immediately.

As usual 28p of the ticket price goes towards good causes and in this case all of the ‘good causes’ amounts raised from Dream Numbers will go towards the 2012 Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games making this an excellent way to help the United Kingdoms Olympic hopes. Therefore there is no need to feel down if your Dream Number isn’t successful as you can feel happy in the knowledge that you have helped our Olympic dreams come true.
