Price of EuroMillions to rise to £2 a ticket

The price of the EuroMillions is set to increase by a third but only in the UK as of November. The price of a ticket will rise by 50p to £2. However, EuroMillions players elsewhere in Europe will still only have to pay 2 Euros for their ticket.

To soften the blow of this price increase, there will be super raffles which will be specially funded by the price increase which is aimed at creating a UK millionaire every week.  The prize pot for this new super raffle could be up to £20 million.  According to the spokesperson from Camelot ‘this is about creating more winners. For that extra 50p, players will get an extra benefit - a guaranteed UK millionaire will be created every week - on top of the mega-millions on offer in the main EuroMillions draw’. On the upside there will be two chances to win a big money prize.

The EuroMillions was launched in 2004 and has helped to create millionaires across Europe with some of the largest jackpots ever seen by lottery standards. Angela Kelly from East Kilbride is the biggest UK winner on the EuroMillions after she won £35.4 million.   Approximately 6 million people across Britain play the EuroMillions lottery.
