We all have different methods for choosing our lottery numbers. Some of us use special dates such as birthdays or anniversaries while others pick theirs at random in their own little lottery draw.

After our previous story of a generous natured lottery winner, it is now sad to tell of a $1m lottery win that has been stolen in Texas.  The story of the 67 year old lottery winner who has had his $1m lottery win stolen by a dishonest convenience store worker at the Lucky Food Store is being told all around the world. Clearly the Lucky Food store is quite an ironic name for the scene of such a dismal crime, lucky for Pankaj Joshi the man accused of the theft but certainly not so lucky for the victim Willis Willis.

This week is shaping up to be an exciting one, with numerous chances to win big lottery prizes. Not only is there a Euromillions triple rollover jackpot of £54 million to be won this evening, but lottery fans can also play for a £4.4 million Lotto rollover jackpot on Saturday night.

Lottery winner Sarah Ashkenazi who has just won $200k on the American Lotto Max game, could teach us all a thing or two about forgiveness.  Although 21 year old Sarah was dumped by her boyfriend Mike for another girl two months before her jackpot lottery win, Sarah has announced to the world that she is still going to buy him a new car with her winnings. Talking to Lotto Max about her win she said of ex Mike “some how we've still remained friends" and "He was the first to call and congratulate me". All very charitable Sarah, but all us girls in the office are screaming ‘are you mad? He left you for another girl!’

For the third week in a row, the Euromillions jackpot has eluded hopeful lottery players, meaning that a massive £54 million is up for grabs on Friday’s Euromillions draw.  All you have to do to win the total jackpot is to match the five main numbers and two lucky stars and your Christmas or winter holidays could be completely paid for.

If you didn’t already know the National Lottery has just celebrated 15 years in existence. And, as well as the event that took place in the West midlands last weekend (which we featured in yesterday’s article) other parts of the country have been celebrating as well.

Lottery winners from across the West Midlands gathered at the weekend to celebrate 15 years of the National Lottery. The event was held at Weston Park in Shropshire, with winners across the West Midlands in attendance.

The Lotto draw on Saturday the 17th of October produced one lucky jackpot winner who won just over £4.5 million pounds. This is a fantastic cash amount considering the current recession and shows that the National Lottery Lotto games still attract loads of attention.

How many times have you read the news of a big lottery win and seen the words ‘It’s not going to change my life!’, the frustration of all that wasted lottery winnings on some skinflint not prepared to even look at a new Porsche or 16 bedroom mansion is enough to make the losers amongst us want to spit. Well not so in Hungary, the hilarious news that an entire police force has quit because they have won £10m on the lottery comes as something of a breath of fresh air.  Clearly not so hilarious for the residents of Budaors, the Hungarian town where they are now at risk of criminals and racketeers taking over the place, but for the rest of the world  the story is absolutely  side-splitting.
