A syndicate made up of 13 Black Country bus workers were celebrating yesterday after discovering they had won more than £100,000 on the National Lottery.

The syndicate matched 5 numbers plus the bonus ball to win the £100k.

The syndicate had been playing for only 13 months when one of the syndicate suggested they play the Wednesday draw to increase their chances.

The winning ticket in last Wednesday’s Lotto draw was bought at Dhesi mini market in Lodge Lane, West Bromwich, and the winning numbers were 3, 21, 25, 32, 37, 46 and the bonus ball of 15. Now each member is £8,146.85 richer.

The group originally thought they only had five numbers but when they double checked they realised they had 5 PLUS the bonus ball.

The Manager at the depot spoke of how their win has changed the atmosphere there. Staff are buzzing from the win and of course the syndicate has become more popular.

Syndicates are becoming more and more popular in this day and age, especially within companies across the UK. The Lottery is played by many syndicates within companies as a group bonding exercise. Roles within the syndicate would include collecting money off players, choosing numbers, collecting signatures from all syndicate players; there is normally a job for everyone. However it is wise to be careful and ensure a contract is drawn up in the event of a big win.
