Bingo Lotto game down and out for the second time

Bingo LottoThe people behind a game that was launched to merge Lotto and bingo together called surprisingly Bingo Lotto has had the plug pulled on it for a second time after only one month.  The interactive Bingo Lotto game first launched in 2008 and was screened on satellite television, with the programme presented Suzanne Shaw and Joe Pasquale.  The pilot for the Bingo Lotto show which lasted six weeks seemed to be a success however a national retail partner was not found to assist with ticket distribution, so the final Bingo Lotto product did not at that time continue.

Intelligent Gaming Solutions (IGS) Lottery Management who owned the rights, managed to secure Tesco to assist with the Bingo Lotto ticket distribution and so the Bingo Lotto game was re-launched at the beginning of October.  There seemed to be a lack of information about the game and the promise of an exciting product really never came to fruition, and rather the explosion of Bingo Lotto activity and marketing that one might expect with a new product, the game was promoted in a very minimal way with players seemingly stumbling upon the tickets in the Tescos stores.

However what seemed a very promising partnership now has failed dismally with the Bingo Lotto game being dropped, the company going into administration with reports that poor ticket sales are behind the collapse this time. The story of the collapse of the Bingo Lotto game has been covered on our sister side Bingo Hideout where one player of the game complained of problems trying to play the game, which for a new bingo or lottery product is not always a bad sign, as there are usually teething problems with any new game.  There is another loser in the sorry Bingo Lotto story, the good causes that 40p of every £2 Bingo Lotto ticket sold were set to receive – oh and the TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson who has lost her new job fronting the show.
