It is always worth rooting out those old lottery tickets which you have forgotten about and checking to see if they are a winner, as there are hundreds of thousands of pounds even millions which go unclaimed every year.

This is what one woman has done from Calderdale in Yorkshire.  After reading her local newspaper and seeing that there was a story about an unclaimed lottery ticket she set about trying to find her unclaimed lottery tickets. It appeared she had forgotten that she had bought the ticket for that particular lottery draw.

After finding the ticket and checking her numbers, she realised that she had hit the jackpot. It turned out it was her ticket which had not been claimed.  The Calderdale lass had matched five numbers plus the bonus ball to net her a whooping £105,064.

It is worth remember to keep your lottery tickets in a safe place where you don’t forget about them and remember to check them once the draw has taken place. You never what you might have won! If the money is unclaimed after a certain period of time, the money is donated to various charities which are supported by the Lottery Fund.
