Buying a national lottery scratch card is all about the thrill of the moment. Most of us hand over our £2 for the excitement of scratching off those panels in the vague hope that in two seconds’ time, we may turn into millionaires. In reality, we are normally ecstatic if we win our money back – anything more than that and we’re bouncing off the walls for the rest of the day. So imagine how a gentleman from Carlisle felt, when his scratch card made him £40,000 better off! Last month, the lucky winner popped into his local Tesco for a bit of late night shopping. Having filled his basket with groceries, the man thought he would spend his last £2 on a Buried Treasure scratch card. This win is the biggest win ever to be scooped at this particular Carlisle store and the lucky winner beat odds of over £3.4 million on the game. Well, at least he won’t need to worry about those food shopping bills for a while! |
