A couple in Grimsby have had their lives turned around after winning £550,000 on the National Lottery.  The couple had been worried about losing their jobs however after winning £275,000 each from a syndicate win they have kissed goodbye to any redundancy worries.

After fifteen years of playing in the syndicate group Julie Clark and Tony Dugard can celebrate at last. Tony had been working as a risk assessor at Corus where there have been around 900 redundancies and Julie’s job at St Mary’s Catholic School has been looking uncertain.

Tony commented:

"We're going to stay grounded and invest the money wisely, but it will change our lives. We've both had unemployment worries recently and the money means we can relax a bit.  We've had the same four rows of numbers every week since 1994 and we've always joked they were the world's unluckiest numbers because we've only won £10 between eight people before."

The couple is making plans to buy a new home and invest some of the money in the neighbouring woodland. Tony had been on his way to hospital to have a ligament transplant on his knee when he claimed his lucky ticket.

The couple have vowed to stay grounded and are simply relieved that their money troubles are over.
