Viewers of Channel 4 were left stunned last night after illusionist Derren Brown correctly predicted the winning lottery numbers for the mid-week draw. The ten minute show consisted of Brown standing next to a TV set which was tuned into the BBC lottery draw. To the left of the TV set was a stand holding six balls. The numbers on the balls, which Derren had predicted, were faced away from the camera. Derren explained that the BBC has the right to broadcast the lottery numbers before anyone else, so he could not reveal his prediction until after the draw. As the draw took place, Derren wrote down the numbers one by one. Then, he stood next to the stand (which had been in shot throughout the show) and turned the balls around. Sure enough, they matched the ones he had written down. No one so far has worked out how the illusionist pulled off this stunt, but there are several theories going around already. But it won’t be long before we all know, because Brown has promised to reveal all in his show on Friday night. One thing we can predict is that there will be more people giving the lottery a go on Saturday, once they have learnt the secret behind Derren’s talent. |
