Anyone involved in a lottery syndicate will know just how exciting it can be to hand over that £1 every week and know that you have more of a chance of winning than if you played the game on your own.

And for one lucky lot of workers, the thrill was even larger when they found out they has scooped £2.2 million on the National Lottery. The team of 25 workers will each walk away with £75,000 of lotto cash following their win.

The group of people involved in the syndicate worked for Stena Line in Holyhead and the ferry staff have been playing the lottery for a while now.
The total prize fund for the Wednesday night draw on which they won was £6.6 million but there were three jackpot winners in total, meaning that the ferry workers left with £2.2 million.

The workers must have been uncontrollable with excitement when their lottery numbers came up. For them, that £1’s worth of excitement that they feel every week, turned into £75,000 worth overnight. What a lucky bunch.
