A National Lottery player called Dermot Finglas from Ireland has been given the all clear to receive a €350,000 cash prize after initially being told he would have to leave the National Lottery HQ without anything. Previously, Mr Finglas was told that the lottery organisers needed time to clarify the claim. Luckily for Mr Finglas these questions have been answered and now he is the lucky winner of €350,000.
This lottery prize wasn’t a straight forward win for Dermot. He left his ticket at the shop where he bought by accident and it was due to the integrity and honesty of the shop owner, Mr Tom Heavey, along with some CCTV footage, that the ticket was returned to its rightful owner.
Due to these unusual circumstances the lottery organisers had to check and check again before any pay out was made. On Monday 15th June, Mr Finglas went to the National Lottery HQ with the hope of collecting his prize but was told there were still some final checks to be made. It only took another few days to sort everything out and on 17th June Dermot collected his win.
To avoid accidentally losing your ticket why not buy online so there is no chance you lose your rights to claim a prize.
