Lottery money makes Cardiff Castle a must see visitor attraction |

Most of us dream of winning the lottery. Whether we play on the lotto, Euromillions, Thunderball or any other National Lottery game the potential jackpot on offer whets our appetite for the next lottery draw. In fact, we often forget that it is not just the players who are in with a chance at receiving some of the money spent. More than £23 billion pounds of lottery money has been given to over 317,000 grants since the lotteries inception. And with more good causes benefitting from lottery money all the time, you can spend your pound with a clear conscious. One recent beneficiary of lottery money was Cardiff Castle. Because of the injection of much needed lottery funds the castle now sports a brilliant new interpretation centre so visitors can explore the castles chequered history. The project started in 2001 and took seven years to complete. Visitors now have access to guides in 10 languages and disabled access has been greatly improved. Other improvements included much needed restoration work and opening new parts of the castle that were previously closed to the general public.
