Ben Woods, a twenty-seven-year-old Liverpool fan, has helped to donate two flat screen TVs to his local hospice, after winning £2.4 million on the Lotto a few years ago. Before becoming a millionaire playing the Lucky Dip on the Lotto, Ben lived with his parents in Liverpool, but following his big win he moved to a £300,000 home in Raby Mere. After winning the big money on the Lotto, Ben lived the dream by quitting his job as a railway guard. When prizes aren’t claimed on the National Lottery, the money is used to help charities. As Ben is one of the jackpot winners he was able to nominate which charity he wanted to help and chose his local hospice. Abi Smith, a fundraiser for the hospice, stated: Being a local lad, Ben chose Claire House and we were able to get two new flatscreen plasma TVs for our parents’ rooms. |
