A syndicate of seventeen call centre workers working at a BT call centre in Glasgow have scooped £1.1 million on the midweek jackpot. The call centre workers picked up the jackpot of £1,093,856 to be split seventeen ways, equating to £64,343 each. The BT call centre workers work in Broomielaw, Glasgow. The leader of the syndicate, Vivienne Allison, thought that a colleague was playing a joke on her when she was told of the win. However they weren’t and she and her colleagues have walked away with nearly £1.1 million. We had been kidding about, discussing what we would do with a win on Thursday morning at work. I had the afternoon off for shopping and got a call from one of the girls saying we had won. I didn't believe it, but then got another call saying it was definitely six numbers. I ended up screaming in the car park. This has come at just the right time for the staff of the BT call centre as they suffered a spate of job losses in April and had feared for their job security. Over £60,000 each before Christmas should put a smile on their faces. |
