Reports are widespread that a lucky resident in the Falkirk area of Scotland has bagged a massive £3.3million on Christmas Eve’s national lottery.

The lone winner of the draw is believed to be a resident of the Denny and Dunipace area of Falkirk in Stirlingshire after the lucky lottery ticket was purchased from the Co-op store in Denny.

Locals think that the winning ticket holder could be a local lady after she visited the store to thank staff for selling her the ticket.

Lottery officials Camelot have so far neither confirmed nor denied that the winner is a Falkirk resident.

One Falkirk resident spoke to a local newspaper, saying:-

"This is not the first time someone from around here has won the lottery. It must be a lucky place to live."

Many locals believe that another lottery winner could be linked to the area, after it was reported that £164,066 is still waiting to be claimed from 19th December’s Euromillions draw.

Again the lucky ticket was purchase in the Falkirk area, and the winner must claim their prize before 5.30pm on Wednesday 17th June 2009.

A spokesperson from the National Lottery said:-

"We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.

This amazing prize could really make a difference to somebody's life as they head into 2009.

We're urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket would be hiding.

Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune.

We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."
