There is more to the lottery than giving people the opportunity to win cash and become a million. Many people may not know that the lottery ploughs money into a variety of different charities, organisations and community to help sustain and manage projects across the country. One particular organisation that is to receive £500,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund is Bletchley Park. Bletchley Park played a key role in helping Britain to win the Second World War through code breaking work. It is also the birthplace of the first computer. One of the computers used at Bletchley called Colossus is said to have helped to shorten the length of the war by approximately two years.
