Every time we pay our pound for the lottery, all that is on our mind is that buzz. We dream of our numbers coming up and we start spending the money in our minds even though deep down, we know that the chances of winning the jackpot are slim. But what we sometimes forget is that our pound is actually doing some real good. Apart from a buzz and a thrill, that pound has also bought someone somewhere a bit more happiness.
And that is because, our lottery money is actually used to help good causes. And recently, a handyman service for residents of a Scottish community was chosen to receive over half a million pounds from the Big Lottery Fund. This money will go towards helping to set up a handyman service for residents of the Highlands of Kilmuir and Logie. The service will help the elderly with DIY jobs such as putting up shelves. It’s always a great feeling to know that you have contributed to a good cause and that you are helping people that need a little bit of support. And by buying a lottery ticket, this is exactly what you are doing. And that buzz and thrill of dreaming that you have the winning lottery numbers adds to the feeling too! |
