Playing the lottery can really help people and your country around you. Every day more and more stories pop up in the news about how various lottery funds are helping the public. Only recently it was announced that a £473,000 grant was donated to six listed churches across Oxfordshire. Among the churches that benefited from this massive donation is the Holy Road Church in Woodeaton, built way back in 1250. The Rev Charles Masheder, rector of the Holy Road Church said today how thrilled they were saying ‘The money has made the whole thing possible’. Another charity receiving massive benefit from Lottery Grants is The Cornwall Blind Association, who looks after blind and partially sighted people in Cornwall. The CBA look set to receive a third of a million pounds. This will be donated by The Big Lottery fund. The money will be used to offer sight assessments, access aids and other equipment as well as providing counselling and benefits advice. They also want to provide access to a range of sporting and leisure pursuits, including carpet bowls, rambling with one to one supervision, ten pin bowling, computer classes, talking book groups and cookery classes. This project alone will reach out to 450 blind and visually impaired people over the next three years. So the next time your thinking of playing lotto online just thinks of the massive happiness you can be creating elsewhere……..without even knowing it. |
