A lotto winner of £100,000 is unsure he’ll be able to claim his scratch card prize as his identity details are too dodgy. The fifty-two year old is a convicted thief and won the big prize after spending £2 on a scratch card at his local shop. However the ex-con has no passport, bank account or driver’s licence and Camelot are refusing to pay out until they can see some proper ID. William Hamilton from Dundee who was imprisoned for robbery and assault in 2004 said:
His sister is also registered as the prize winner as she contacted Camelot on his behalf to claim the money. Camelot has asked that Janet now sign a declaration to ensure that the prize money does belong to Mr Hamilton. A spokesperson for the lottery organizers said that it was imperative that ‘sufficient’ ID was produced to claim a prize. He went on to say:
