He might fall from the tallest building and crash a brand new car, but Mark Lisbon is now longer the unknown stuntman. Forty-two-year-old Lisbon, a stuntman from Yorkshire, has landed the midweek Lotto jackpot, a prize of £7.5 million that he’ll share with his girlfriend. Lisbon is a professional stuntman who has appeared in such films as Tomb Raider, Harry Potter and Batman. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Lisbon doubled for Gary Oldman, performing the stunts for character Sirius Black. Lisbon is currently working as the stunt-co-ordinator on ITV drama Heartbeat. Lisbon says the Lotto win hasn’t quite sunk in for him and his girlfriend Jane Surtees, who chose the numbers for the jackpot win. I think both of us feel empty really. It is not what you expect, when you actually do hear that news you expect to be jumping for joy - it's not like that.Mark Lisbon met his girlfriend Jane Surtees on the set of Heartbeat, where she has starred in smaller roles. Mr Surtees stated: It's such a huge thing to take on board. Lisbon says the Lotto win won’t change his life and he intends to keep on working as a stuntman in film and TV. In his career so far Mark has also acted as a stuntman for Hollywood actors Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp. When Mrs Surtees checked her numbers she actually didn’t register the amount, getting the numbers wrong. She thought she’d won £7,500… It was quite a shock when she realised she’d actually won 1,000 times that amount. |
