Twenty-five members of a lottery syndicate in Bradford have won an incredible £75,000 on a National lottery scratch card.

The syndicate from the purchasing department at the head office of Morrison's supermarket purchased the winning Scrabble Scratch card from funds which they had won on the lottery last year.

The lucky £2 scratch card was bought from Morrison's in Wakefield by 39 year old Julia Moorhouse, leader of the supermarket syndicate.

Members of the syndicate each checked the card individually but did not completely believe that they were winners until Julia received confirmation from Camelot that the card was worth £75,000.

Members of the syndicate are now said to be planning to spend their winnings on a variety of treats from holidays to home improvements.

Julie said of the win:-

"We play Lotto each week and any prizes won over the year are shared out in December.

We had some prize money left over after we’d shared it out so we decided to buy some scratch cards and picked the Scrabble version so we could all scratch a square off – little did I know that we had bought a winning card.

We’ve not won a life-changing amount but it will make all our lives much easier. We’re planning to celebrate together soon and then look forward to treating ourselves.”
