If there’s one thing we can be sure of, it is that a big lottery jackpot is certain to cause a bit of a stir. And the recent Euromillions Superdraw was no exception.

With a jackpot of £89 million up for grabs, the Euromillions draw was the topic of conversation all of last Friday.

In order to win, players had to match five winning numbers as well as two lucky stars. But despite nine countries being involved in this draw, people were not put off from having a go. The estimated jackpot was £85 million but a rush of sales pushed this right up to £89 million.

However, despite the optimism of these people who rushed out to buy a ticket at the last minute, there was just one lucky ticket containing the winning lottery numbers.

And that ticket belonged to a syndicate of 15 people from the south of France.  The group of people live in a small village called Venelles which only has a population of 8000. The village is extremely excited that the jackpot was won by locals and the fact that this is the largest Euromillions lottery prize ever won in France makes it even more special.
