The lady who left the hairdressers with more than just a haircut

We all dream of hearing those words; ‘We’ve won the lottery!’

But when we picture this scene, most of us imagine ourselves crowded round the television in our lounge, with our family, ticking of the numbers as they are called.

Well, this is not what happened for Hilary Carter.

In fact, Hilary was relaxing at her local hairdressers, enjoying a cut and blow dry just like she does every week when she realised her luck. The hairdresser called out the winning lotto numbers just as Hilary was having the finishing touches done to her do and she suddenly realised that she had matched five main balls as well as the bonus ball.

Hilary has been using the same lottery numbers since she first started playing in 1994, so she knew immediately that she had won. She managed to scoop £118,406.

The lucky winner, who lives in sheltered housing, was absolutely overwhelmed and said that she wasn’t sure how she would spend the money. The only thing she has decided on is that she would like to watch the Welsh rugby team play against their rivals, France, in Paris.
