A local shop in South Co Dublin yesterday celebrated its second major Lotto win with Saturday’s enormous jackpot of over 14 million Euros. However staff still do not know the identity of the lucky millionaire. Manager Mark Cox said: “We don’t have a clue who it was and I haven’t heard any speculation. There was a fair bit of excitement. The word is out and we are getting some phone calls, but it is still fairly quiet.” Mr Cox has been extremely busy all week with he build-up of the 58 million Euros Euromillions draw as well as the Lotto jackpot. The shop has a lucky history with the lottery as a small lotto jackpot prize was won just a few years ago. A lottery spokesperson yesterday told how she hoped the lucky Lotto winner would contact the office today or later this week but said they only have up to 90 days to claim the prize. The jackpot had rolled over several times since St Patrick’s Day before being won on Saturday. Up to 1,800 tickets a minute were sold in the run up to Saturdays draw. An estimated 40 per cent of players bought their tickets online. The bonus of playing online is you will never lose your ticket and if you win, an email is sent to you to inform you. |
