The Thunderball jackpot rolled out at Rotherham Thunderball in South Yorkshire in January, and it made Maureen Bywater £250,000 richer for 2009. Maureen, a 64 year old lady who bought her Thunderball ticket because she read a very promising horoscope in her local newspaper became quarter of a million pounds richer on a whim.

After Maureen bought the Lucky Dip ticket, she was shocked to realise that the numbers which had been picked for her were the birth dates of all the people in her family. This gave Maureen real hope she was in for very good lottery luck.

“I hoped that this would be a lucky week for me,” said this lucky lottery winner, “especially when I saw that all the numbers on my Lucky Dip ticket happened to be the birthdays of my husband, my son, my niece and two of my grandsons. I hope this is the start of a great year for me and my family.”

Maureen and Eddie, her 67 year old husband, are now planning a summer holiday in Benidorm along with buying new headstones for their parent’s graves which has been a plan of theirs for a long time. The couple have played the lottery on and off since November 2004 and they intend to continue.
