Winner of the Thunderball jackpot last month, Maureen Bywater, 64 years old, is £250,000 richer! From Rotherham in South Yorkshire, Maureen bought a Thunderball ticket after reading her horoscope in a local newspaper.

Maureen had bought a lucky dip Thunderball lottery ticket which is a ticket that has randomly generated numbers on it for the player. However uncannily the numbers selected were all birthday dates of her family members and in addition to the good tiding in her horoscope, Maureen took this as a good sign!

The winning lottery winner commented:

“I hoped that this would be a lucky week for me, especially when I saw that all the numbers on my Lucky Dip ticket happened to be the birthdays of my husband, my son, my niece and two of my grandsons. I hope this is the start of a great year for me and my family.”

Maureen along with her 67 year old husband Eddie are now making plans to travel abroad to Benidorm in the summer. They also want to buy brand new headstones to their parent’s graves which has been a longstanding wish of the couple. The couple has played the lottery since its launch date in November 1994 and following their win they will continue playing in the future.
