A 49 year old unemployed man who has never been abroad has recently scooped £4.5million playing the Lotto. And the first thing Seamus Duffy plans to do with his winnings is apply for his first ever passport and head off to America and Australia. Seamus, from Co Londonderry has never ventured further than England, but this recent win could be his ticket out of the United Kingdom.
The digger driver was forced to give up his job last year, because he was suffering from arthritis. He has six children and now plans to buy a house close to his family. The family man also wants to buy a Range Rover; something that he has always dreamed of owning. The regular lotto player plays the game every Wednesday, Saturday and Friday and he couldn’t believe his luck when he decided to check his lottery numbers at 2am on a Sunday morning. But when he discovered his win, the phone lines were closed so he had to wait until 9am the next day before it could be confirmed. The millionaire received his cheque at the Drummond Hotel in Ballykelly where champagne was flowing. Seamus’ success story does just prove how dreams really can come true. |
