Lotto Info

The National Lottery was established in 1994 and Lotto is the longest running game and still arguably the most exciting. Lotto is the rebranded name of the original National Lottery game which, other than the name change, remains very much the same and is open to UK residents only. Lotto provides the opportunity for very large jackpot wins as 52% of the prize fund is available for those matching 6 numbers and as such the Lotto is responsible for creating a huge amount of millionaires.

The lotto couldn’t be easier to play, and requires a simple process of selecting 6 numbers between 1 and 49 and a win being possible for matching a minimum of 3 of those drawn. Tickets can be purchased at many different retail outlets or online, with the online option being the most convenient and quickest method. Tickets can be purchased for as little as £1 and you can purchase lotto tickets for either the Saturday or Wednesday draw or both and each ticket provides the opportunity for being included in 8 weeks of draws, although you can use your saved numbers again and again if playing lotto online. There is also the option of having ‘lucky dip’ numbers selected for you which are randomly generated. If you do opt for purchasing online then you will be automatically notified in the event of a win, which is extremely helpful if you are unable to watch the live draws feature on BBC One on a Wednesday and Saturday.

In the happy eventuality of a win, sums of up to £500 will be credited to your account if purchased online, sums in between £501 and £5,000 will be paid directly to your debit card and for the really exciting big wins of £5,000+ then a call to the very helpful Customer Care Team on 0845 278 8000 is required.

Playing the Lotto not only give the excitement of winning that all important jackpot win, it also provides the ‘feel good’ factor as 28p of each lotto ticket sold is given to good causes. The good causes are selected by the National Lottery Commission and to date over 300,000 projects have had the benefit of receiving lottery funds ranging from sporting groups, community projects and various causes such as the brilliant ‘Heroes Return’ which provides funds for World War II veterans and widows who served for their country between 1939 – 1945 to make commemorative visits.

Playing Lotto online with the National lottery is uncomplicated, thrilling but more importantly safe, the Lotto game itself is operated by Camelot Group and is strictly regulated by OFLOT, you can therefore be sure that you are playing and entrusting your money with a reputable organisation.
