Latest Lottery Results Wordpress Widget

This WordPress widget provides you with the latest UK National Lottery and Euro Millions results in your Wordpress powered website. We don't have an exact demo available on this site as it doesn't run WordPress, but the one of the right is almost exactly the same. This module will pickup the styling from your template too, so don't worry if you don't like red headings.

Overview

Lotto Hideout is one of the premier UK Lottery portals and we spend a great deal of time and effort collecting the latest lottery results for our visitors and members. As such we decided to offer a simple widget that can be installed on other websites allowing their members to enjoy timely lottery results too.

All results are delivered via an xml feed which is cached by the module every 6 hours to ensure you always have the latest results (and our servers don't crash!). This feed is then parsed and displayed via a WordPress widget. This service is provided totally free and new results are published as soon as they become available.

The results that are available are Lotto, Euro Millions, Daily Play, Dream number, Thunderball and Lotto Hotpicks. It's possible to select only the results you wish to display, so using this as a Euro Millions only widget is simple.

How to install

1. Unzip the archive and upload all contents to the 'wp-content/plugins' folder of your WordPress installation directory.

2. Ensure the cache folder inside the lottery plugin folder ('wp-content/plugins/lottery-results/cache') has write permissions - chmod 777 if necessary.

3. Activate the plugin from the Plugins admin page in WordPress.4. The widget will now be available on the Widget admin page in WordPress. Drag it to the sidebar you wish it do be displayed in and configure the options for the widget to suit your needs.

Options

There are a number of options for the widget, these are all controlled via the WordPress widget admin page as shown on the right.

You have the ability to select which of the six available results to display, all are displayed by default.

The last two options are regarding the buy tickets link. This link is to take visitors to the National Lottey site where they can purchase tickets. You can choose whether or not to display the link. If you choose to display the link then you may also wish to enter an affiliate link into the URL field, this will then be used enabling you to earn money if a visitor then goes on to purchase tickets online.
